MORE THAN HUMAN INTELLIGENCE CARDS

These cards are a vehicle to introduce more-than-human perspectives into conversations and design explorations. The discourse around human and machine intelligence is everywhere, moving fast, always changing…and it artificially locks us into a binary where the only intelligences we consider are those two. There’s a wide world of creatures and entities with novel forms of intelligence, sensing, adapting, creating, experiencing, forming community and networks of care, that are outside of the value systems and material realities of the human/machine dichotomy.

These cards are an entryway into re-introducing these ways of being, sensing, and processing the world from the position of various non-human entities. We invite you to engage with the differing concepts of time, communication, consumption, memory, space, etc. that you can encounter in the cards, and use those to stretch conversations, problem-solving and imagining.
